Jurgen just sent me a video of his latest creation - a neon bar graph audio VU meter. This device is powered from a 12V DC wall power adapter or from 2x USB ports because of the 1A current draw. It uses a logarithmic display from -20 dB to +10 dB.  The enclosure will look like the NixieTherm or the headphone amp that is currently in production.

But I would guess, that all electronic components, board, power supply, tubes, enclosure etc. needed to build the circuit, are not for free ;-)

Correct, but Tube Clock Database has become more of a market place than anything else. I think more earlier designs need a place here too.

It is much the same with many other "new designs" found here. In my opinion there should be a separate page for marketing and testing of new designs and another page for older designs, like a database of designs should be.

I think that would add another dimension to this webpage, but I realise that searching for older designs take a lot of time and might not be the focus of this webpage.

I myself visit this page less often now that it has become this "marketing place" - there is unfortunately seldom any news here!

I think it was a much better place when it started!

Sure, but Brian should know about this "old designs" and also the seller should contact him for publishing. BTW, I know this design of the IN-13 VU meter very well. It is not bad, but most of the customers want's to have a "build and play" solution. That means they do not only want to buy only the PCB but also all parts from one seller. Look, the "That" logarithmic amplifier IC you can only obtain from Mouser. Not a problem, when you are a valued customer. The IN-13 needs to buy from Russia, the enclosure must be designed by yourself, you have to look for a +/- 15VDC supply, for the IN-9 you need an external HV supply as the current capacity of the build in supply is too low, etc...

Very nice work Jürgen.
I like your use of the IN-9, as these were often ignored in favor of the IN-13. And they were priced accordingly :-)
