So I blew up something on my wemos as I had the positive and negative around the wrong way on it, so have replaced it with a new one.
When I try and connect to it on my ipad, I can find it under the name Farylink_08e8fb and I can connect my pad to it, but that’s as far as I can get.
What do I need to do next?
Can I access it with my pad and open it up to hopefully program it?
Or do I need to connect to it with my laptop to program it via Arduino website?
Baby steps first.
Once connected and able to open it I will be asking how to program it!
Connect WeMos to a computer using the micro USB port.
Go thru whatever device driver ritual your computer wants to do when it sees the WeMos connected to USB. You'll have to install the CH340 USB to Serial driver if it's not already on your system.
Once that's done the WeMos will appear as a serial port on your computer. Launch the Arduino IDE, open the program you intend to load into the WeMos, and select the appropriate serial port (Tools -> Port). Set up the other parameters in Tools using the info provided in the comments at the top of the source code.
When everything is set in Arduino IDE, disconnect the WeMos from USB, then reconnect it while holding down the tiny button on the side of the WeMos. This puts the WeMos into bootloader mode.
In the Arduino IDE compile and upload the program in the usual manner.
That's basically it. Disconnect the WeMos and put it back in the clock...
Look into it later when the dust is clearing off the crater.
I just bought a kit "4-Digit Wemos Clock" and somehow I just lost the program in Wemos.
I downloaded the firmware from site, "Manual and downloads" section. I understand that this clock is currently not open source, so you offer the .bin version of the firmware. The README-FLASHING file has explanations on how to flash the Wemos, but I think that they are for Linux environment so I would like to ask you to indicate me a solution for Windows . If is not possible, please maybe some more detailed instructions for Linux ( Ubuntu).
Thank you, Sorin
