OK, let's face it: the only time anyone who entered will accept the random number as being fair is if THEY win! I know that if I win that will be the case!

That's a good one!

OK, but if you're going to bring up that monograph, you should probably give a shout-out to Tom Jennings...

..and Chapter 2 of this one:

Personally, I accept random.org even though it never seems to work out for me.

After a long response written, hitting the SUBMIT button errored out on me. Errrr.

Basically,
wino_man - I completely agree. I have proof. :)

RAND. Wow, I love that book. Very interesting read. Mostly because... well.

MANY years ago, a friend wanted me to write a program to test a theory of his. So, in GWBasic and a couple of days later, it was pumping out numbers. High speed of the Apple IIe and a Radio Shack Tandy 1000 was great.

Wasted a lot of printer ribbons on the numbers and daily stats running for weeks. Manually going over the printed "random" numbers (quite by mistake/chance), we discovered that the numbers were not so random. Even computers generating random numbers have a sequence. That sucked, because.....

If anyone here wants a very good system to make you a lot of money at Craps, I have a theory - cheap. The only problem is that the random numbers of a casino table probably are not the same as the random numbers generated by computers. (At least not using RAND().)
