I have A-101’s that are really black at the top. Anyone know if there is a way to the clean such a tube inside to get rid of the silver/black getter ? Perhaps by applying a (range of) voltage(s). I know how to re-activate radiotubes , but this is something else. I know it might by a sign that they are leaking, but I would still like to give it a try.

That is by design! There is nothing to do. The silvering on the inside of the dome is meant to be there!

Yes, true. But on some the silvering is really dark.

When you fire it up, the dot should shine through. I'm not aware of any procedure to remove the silvering from the dome.
