Yea, not quite dead yet. I don't have one of those boards but there are at least a couple people I'm aware of who are still working on getting theirs running. I don't mind trying to help them but with no docs I'm kinda screwed. Anxiously awaiting publication... :)

Look into it later when the dust is clearing off the crater.

I dunno what it is, a lot of people have rolled up in the past week or so asking for the design. Did some other design go titsup?

I'll put some effort into it...

I'd be happy with just a schematic and the code...

Oh, just looking through old posts - I might not have answered this one at the time, but now, just in case:

are the boards still available anywhere? i am building a stem on the theme of displays and this would be great to contrast with

It really is on my list of things to do to get this idea going again.

The project works fine, but I was never happy with the "ghosting" that can be seen when the digits are very bright. This is due to the bus not being discharged on time and the residual charge showing up very faintly. I added some pull down resistors and that "solved" it, but it just didn't feel like the right way of doing things. Ideally, we would have a "push-pull" driver to actively discharge the segment bus, but that is a bridge too far for this design.

So I shelved the project because I don't like things that are not quite right.

However, it does work, and I may well take another run at it in the near future.

The freebie boards are all long gone, but I do still have a stock of corrected boards if you want. Mail me if you want one - I'll only charge for the cost of the postage. You can get the address from here: www.nixieclock.biz/Contact.html
