The board will have enough I/O to support Tube backlighting, I can add the pulsating effect to the firmware.
My board is in final testing - should be available soon.

Will the colon pulsate too ?
Regarding the slot effect.
Other than the usual slot time effect for time
Does it animate between time and date / temperature ?
If no light sensor is used , any way to manually program day / night settings
( tube brightness , led brightness ,pulsating , static or turn off )

To answer your question about the slot effect (also includes the slide effect):
Yes, the effect is also enabled when switching between time/date/temperature.
I think on the options, I will make a table of what is available - since it is software, I will look into all option suggestions.
There are already options to set brightness, colon mode, LED lighting to fixed (non-light sensor modes) values. I will look into expanding this to day/night modes.
