The aretwork is really next level in it's application to the PCB. It really shows what a talent is working on the project. To have the Nixie story on the PCB is totally perfect. I lost count as to how many times I explained what a Nixie is to friends and co-workers.
Really a top notch artwork there!
Also IMHO the Nixie therm is the first application I've seen that show the one of the practical applications of the IN-9 tube. Always wondered what the Russians did with that tube since I've never see it in a device.
I, too am blown away by the pcb artwork. The only way I can think of doing something similar is with blind vias and inner signal layers. Still, I think the secret ingredient is lots of time and tons of patience.
Just finished one of these kits that I bought off ebay. I had never done SMD soldering before, and this was one hell of an intro to it. Very impressed with the quality of the kit, and appreciated all the extra components. It doesn't keep time right now because I lost the crystal, but have a new one on order. The instructions were in Chinese, any chance of an English translation for at least the remote control portion? I am not sure what options/functions are available.
