Sorry, Q1 and 2 are facing UP at the moment towards the top of the board!

Also, should I swap back the 10k Pot I installed, back to the 5k pot in the schematic.
The reason I put a 10k in was because in the photos of the built clock, this was a 10k.

Thanks again

Let me take a few photos of the boards I built, that will help a lot. However, tomorrow, because today because I am out.

Best thing to do is wait for Ian to post pictures of his assembled & working board! However, I did spend some time with the schematic, the board photo in the construction manual and the data sheets for the various transistors.

The silk screen on the picture of the board in the construction manual seems to be correct but the silkscreen for Q4 in the picture Ian posted here yesterday is not.

Here is what I came up with. When I say up, down, left, right I'm viewing the board as shown in the manual, that is to say looking at the top surface of the board with tubes at the bottom and the WeMos to the right.

Q3 - When you stick it in the holes the tab faces down, once you've bent it over the tab is against the board.

Q4 - The flat faces to the right.

Q1 & Q2 - The schematic shows these as JFETs but they are actually MOSFETs, so orientation does matter. Flats should face up.

Look into it later when the dust is clearing off the crater.

No... it looks right to me. And so does the 2N3906. If you were to bend the IRF640 over flat, the tab would be against the board, right?

Yes it would.
So if I have the bits the right way around, why am I not getting the 50v?
It must be down to the mc34063 then.
What position should pin one be in? Do I have that plugged in the right way?
Thanks.
