Best Buy put their private label Chumbies called 'Insignia Infocast's on sale last Friday. The shelf sale price was $100, for the 3.5" model. But the checkout scanner charged me $50. I went back and bought an 8" and it scanned for $100.
ICYDK, Chumbies are linux-based lcd touch screens w/wifi. The device and the company are very hacker-friendly.
I have a Chumby One, and for $50 bucks, it's the most awesome 'clock' you will ever buy that does not have tubes in it. There are literally hundreds of different clock styles to pick from and people can write their own... the device plays Flash objects, so anything that can be made in Flash can be put on the device's screen. The Linux command line is readily available and you can telnet into the device and install anything that will run on Linux. I have a webserver set up on mine that I use to serve pictures for an online photo frame program.
