I saw that book, but then I checked out the reviews on Amazon

"The book is a promising reference concept, but the execution is somewhat sloppy. Whatever algorithm they used was not fully tested. The bulk of each page seems random enough. However at the lower left and lower right of alternate pages, the number is found to increment directly. "

You forgot to mention the other reviewers, one of whom complained because the numbers in the book were not sorted to make them easier to find, and another who found his wife by dialing phone numbers randomly for a statistics project. Nobody complained about the total lack of pictures in this book however, a glaring omission.

Well, after getting an account started, I decided I better try to post before I explore the site.

The concenpt of a mystery box is interesting. I always was tempted to buy a mystery box when shopping at the various surplus stores in my youth. A Box of ten Tubes at ETCO in Montreal got me a Philips tube that even the Tube collectors Association had heard of but not seen.

I used a calculator I got in a radio Shack grab box for years after making a minor repair. Every year Radio Shack used to pack all the returned toys into grab bags,

of course one box was filled with a couple of Pounds of small Ceramic insulators.

The picture is the project I started in 2003, and hope to finish by 2013

Welcome "just beyond the fringe" to the site, so what's the mystery box for that you're building in your pic...?

"just beyond the fringe was the slogan of a local car dealer when I was growing up, it somehow seems to fit me.

The Chassis is for a small Amp. PP 6V6 on one side, PP 7C5 on the other. RCA RC-19 Circuit. If I ever can bet back to working on it.
