Hi Guys
Sorry, its been a while since I have been here. Have been flat out.
My question above was because I was looking at a four digit clock for work.
Wanting it to have 4 digits, the flashing LEDs, Wifi and proximity.

Whats the best kit for this? Rev6 with the 4 digit firmware? Or is there another specific kit?

I am making two clocks, so will be purchasing another kit to go with the Rev6 I have here.

Cheers, and seasons greetings to all.

Classic Rev. 6 with 4 digit firmware is probably your best bet

I'm pretty sure there isn't a kit specifically for 4 digits. Ian please correct me if I'm mistaken about that.

Look into it later when the dust is clearing off the crater.

Just as a note to this; There is a 4 digit version of the Rev6 firmware in the Git Repo and that is indeed the best bet...

Hi Everyone.

It has been a long time since I have been back, work and life took over my hobbies.
I am now finishing my first clock and putting it all together finally.

On the Rev6 board it has the pin out headers for the cathodes and anodes. Is there a specific product number, brand or something I should be specifically searching for to find a 10 way (and a six way) female socket plug?
I cannot seem to find much unless I want 10,000 of them from China.
I have been searching for IDC connectors. I was going to use the ribbon cable with them as its rated to 300v and I am told this should be ok?

What are your thoughts? Am I looking in the wrong place or is this not how its done? Any advice?

Cheers,

Mike

For those parts, in reasonable quantities, Ali and eBay and such are not the answer. Neither are the small "hipster" outfits like Adafruit or SparkFun.

In North America check out Mouser and DigiKey and maybe Avnet. In UK & Europe there's Rapid, RS, and maybe a few others I'm not aware of. These are all what I'd call full-line or "real" component distributors that stock everything you could ever want.
