I've been playing around with the idea of making a clock with IN-1 tubes on tube holders. We know that IN-1 tubes are not the most long lived, but they are cheap and have a warm glow to them.
I've been looking at the tubes in detail and have noticed that the glass envelope is not accurately mounted in the Bakelite cup. There are often a few degrees difference in the orientation of the tube. This looks really bad.
Has anyone got/seen any nice solutions to allowing PCB mounted IN-1s to be aligned correctly?
