If you have the HV voltage, then the hardest part is done.
Please take a photo of the component side of the board. The things I would be looking for are:
- K155 inserted correctly
- Anode resistors inserted correctly
- Optos inserted correctly
So, basically, what Ty already said.
If everything is right, I'd suggest to take another look at the soldering on the K155ID1. If that looks OK, then we can pop it out and do some jumpering on the pins of the socket. Jumper from GND to pins 9-16 of the K155 - something should light up: it might be garbled, but we should see some action somewhere.
Thank you gents, it appears I have not yet completed all the steps necessary for the tubes to light up.
As I have already said, I have followed the guide step by step, and at page 21 it says test the tubes - it DOES NOT say anything about having to install the anode or cathode control curcuits (which are in the following pages) before doing this...back to the workbench for me then, sorry to have wasted your time.
Hmmm, you have a valid point there. That part of the manual seems like it needs some editing. It has you testing the NeoPixels before the headers and pins are installed and testing the tubes with no driver circuitry installed. Neither of those is going to work out very well.
Look into it later when the dust is clearing off the crater.
