ESP01 will not find Clock, but sees RTC module

Hm that sounds a lot like the clock might be running old firmware. What version number does it show when you start it up?

The 0x5F device is probably the EEPROM on the RTC module. See here: electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/...o-ghost-address-0x5f

Ok, good news. The ESP01 now finds the Clock. The only change made is to connect the tubes. I have zero idea on why that makes any difference at all!

Wife is very happy to see it come to life, it is a birthday present for her.

Clock FW version shows as 0357 on startup. I will reflash with slightly modified code as my display board has 2 WS2812's per tube.

Until you complete the HV calibration (press button when displaying 8s), which realistically requires tubes, the clock won't really do anything.
