I have a modular rev3 with in-14 tubes when I updated the clock would not work with the 74141 chip that I always use but works with the Russian equivalent as the clock is working no panic but would love to know why thanks

Sorry should have said tried two different 74141 chips unless I managed to kill two chips

Sorry. It was just a wild guess. I really don't know the electrical differences between a 74141 and a K155ID1. I would think that a 74141 should work in the circuit.

Let me see if I understand the situation.
Clock was working (with 74141)
Updated firmware
Clock stopped working
Changed 74141 to a K155
Clock works again
Is that correct? If so, I have no idea why that would happen!
Look into it later when the dust is clearing off the crater.

Yes that is exactly what happened all I can think of is when the clock stopped working I changed the chip for one from a new batch I can't have so much bad luck that I killed a chip and the new ones are dud
