Problem with ESP01 was created by BS_Jim
I've flashed an ESP01 and an Atmega to v55 for a v1 clock. The problem is I can't log in to the ESP01. The AP shows up on my phone, but it is password locked and it won't let me in to set it up for my network. I've tried re-flashing it several times using different programming options with no success. Is there a default password?

Try this (without the quotes of course) as a password:
"SetMeUp!"

Look into it later when the dust is clearing off the crater.

Just to put a bit of explanation behind that:

From this repository:

https://bitbucket.org/isparkes/nixiefirmwarev1/src/master/

and specifically, this sketch:

https://bitbucket.org/isparkes/nixiefirmwarev1/src/master/WifiTimeProviderESP8266/WifiTimeProviderESP8266.ino

Looking at line 162:
connected = wifiManager.autoConnect("NixieClockTimeModule","SetMeUp!");

Also, at the top of the file, there should be the sort of current recommended flashing options:
Board: Generic ESP8266 Module,
    Crystal Frequency: 26MHz,
    Flash: 80MHz,
    CPU: 160MHz,
    Flash Mode: QIO,
    Upload speed: 115200,
    Flash size: 1M (64k SPIFFS),
    Reset method: ck, Disabled, none
    Erase Flash: All flash contents,
    Builtin LED: 1

but these seems to change with every new release of everything... :-/

Really important is the "CPU: 160MHz" one.
