My bad. I tought manual says 50k, but now I double checked and it says 56-100k.
Today I tried 150k. It is not 100% OK, but almost. I will try 200k
Thanks.

The "best" resistor value depends on your particular neon bulbs. I got 200K by using numbers somewhere in between NE2 and NE2H specs, so 200K should not be considered an absolute maximum. Trial and error until you find the resistance that gives the best results is fine, if you try too high a resistance the worst that will happen is the neons won't turn on reliably.

Look into it later when the dust is clearing off the crater.
