today my 6 Digit Arduino Nixie Clock Kit arrived (Rev4)! YEAH!
(what a nice looking PCB! That was FAST!
Cant wait for the weekend to start soldering.
One "But": I ordered sockets (sk-136 like) for the tubes and the sellers
is in the Ukraine...so it will take until midth of Juni until I will get the sockets.
I cant accept to wait for such a "long" time....
Therefore I am in search for a solderfree/-less solution to connect the contacts
of the PCB temporary to to the Pins of the tubes (IN12 .
It should be cheap -- since it will be replaced as soon the sockets had arrived but should
not be THAT cheap that the board/tube will be easily shortcuited by accident -- or me
electrocuted for the same reasons.
I found high precision contacts but as a temproray solution they are by far too expensive.
Thank you very much in advance for contact
I have had good results using the female contacts from DB-9 or DB-25 connectors. Crimp or solder the contacts on to your wires and slide them over the tube pins. The contacts will probably "stretch" going on to the pins but who cares - it's temporary.
Look into it later when the dust is clearing off the crater.
