Tiny universal clock PCB

I think I will release the board soon, I've had a change of jobs (my real one), and have been concentrating on releasing and refining software for my new IN-8-2 board and IN-18 direct drive board that I use in my glass clocks. (Which took a lot longer than I originally thought, I changed to QFN parts, new HV supply and a new software version).

The Microboard will use many of the items from my other clock boards, so that does help.

I'm also wondering about warranty - not sure how to go about that one, my volume will be too low to cover all the problems that may come up. (Such as user error that can kill a board, etc).

Anyway, I will decide soon if I still want to use Kickstarter or just release the board.

That is good news. I really like the idea of a direct drive in-18 clock board!

Would you release both at the same time?

Sorry to hear about the job change, that can be very stressful, I hope that worked out for you.

You might want to have a look at this module. It measures 50mm x 60mm and runs 6 digits, with RGB back lights and LED or neon separators.

It's not SMD, but it's not much larger than an SMD equivalent one would be.

Also, it's open source. Code is here: https://github.com/isparkes/ArdunixNix6

Full disclosure: I designed it and sell it as a kit.

Mjsangster,

Sorry to resurrect an old thread..

Did you ever finish your tiny clock?

Thanks,
Jeff

I did finish the Universal clock PCB, and it running in one of my own clocks.

Still not sure if I should put it into production, not sure if I have time to properly support the board. But perhaps this winter.
