Just a thought... many of my case ideas come from looking through old junk until something "grabs me".

The clock in this thread is made from stuff I had laying around. The display housing is a piece cut from the "track" of broken vertical window blinds, then glue a strip of plexiglass in the slot, fasten wood on ends, etc. The base is squares of wood with the metal part being aluminum bar stock left over from something and cold-bent into a square.

My chiming clock features pieces of old light fixtures.

And so on...

Look into it later when the dust is clearing off the crater.

I have to say that this screams 1960's design and it looks amazing. Really like the finished design! Super cool display as well and it looks large enough to see across a room which is a real bonus.
